Women, Land/Art Open Call
📣New funded residency opportunity 📣 – Calling all artist-women and non-binary artists.
🌿This is an invitation to spend up to 2 weeks between the period of April 29 – May 13 2026 at Southcombe Barn, Dartmoor, Devon developing existing projects or creating new works in response to the land.
The winner of this residency will also have the opportunity to participate in a newly curated group exhibition at Southcombe Barn, Cartographies of Care, curated by @cassinellimills alongside six highly acclaimed artist-women and non-binary artists working in response to land in summer 2026. The exhibition explores gender and ecology through the everyday and peripheral encounters of women and non-binary artists with land and landscape.
Southcombe Barn is an artist retreat, residency, and test space comprising 16 acres of land. On site, there is an apothecary garden, a natural swimming pool, and a wood-fired sauna. The land backs onto Dartmoor National Park, which is a haven for wildlife, with a range of ecosystems including wildflower meadows, temperate rainforest, woodland, ponds and streams.
