Open Residencies
About
Open Residencies (self-funded and self-directed artist residencies) are possible throughout the year, and we welcome applications from artists, curators, writers, researchers and all other creative practitioners. We have a focus on supporting artist women and non-binary artists, working across all creative disciplines, and at all stages of their career.
It’s possible to apply as a couple, small group or solo practitioner and for everything from a micro-residency of three nights, up to one month long residencies. We also have occasional openings for longer term residencies of three months to up to one year.
Pricing
The pricing varies by time of year, length of stay, requirements in terms of catering, arts supplies, arts workshops, 1-2-1 mentoring and curatorial advice, and creative and wellbeing activities required. All residencies are bespoke depending upon artist objectives and are subject to availability and your application.
As a guide a micro-residency starts at £500 and a 14 night Open Residency start at £1,500. This is on a fully self-funded and self-catered basis. Artists have use of use of a studio space, the Apothecary garden, yoga studio, wood-fired sauna and 16 acres of wildflower meadows, woodland and pasture.
